NWSA On The Move! Graduating Class of New World School of the Arts College to March to a Different Beat, Wednesday, April 25, In Lively Procession from N.E. 2nd Avenue School Site To Freedom Tower at 6th Street and Biscayne Boulevard

3. PLACE: NE 5th Street between Biscayne and 2nd Avenue

4. EVENT: NWSA Bachelor of Fine Arts Graduation. 67 students and faculty will assemble at MDC’s site where they will follow a procession of African Drummers and Dancers to commencement exercises at Freedom Tower.

5. THE ROUTE: Out of NE 5th Street, Left to NE 2nd Avenue, Right to Biscayne to Freedom Tower (600 Biscayne Blvd)

6. DISTINGUISHED GUESTS/SPEAKERS:
Gerald K. Schwartz – NWSA Executive Board Chair
Rolando Montoya, Wolfson Campus President, Miami Dade College.
Lucinda Lavelli, Dean of Fine Arts, University of Florida
Essie Pace, Regional Superintendent, Miami Dade County Public Schools
Sebastian Krys, Producer/Engineer, Grammy Award Winner and Commencement Address Speaker

7. VALEDICTORIAN :Vanessa Tomchik, Visual Arts student, photography and painting major. Ms. Tomchik is from Brazil.

New World School of the Arts was created by the Florida Legislature as a center of excellence in the performing and visual arts, is an educational partnership of Miami Dade County Public Schools, Miami Dade College and the University of Florida.
