PREMIERES OF ELEVEN PROVOCATIVE NEW WORKS BY NEW WORLD SCHOOL OF THE ARTS COLLEGE DANCE STUDENTS TO BE PRESENTED AND JURIED IN PUBLIC PERFORMANCES, DECEMBER 14 & 15 AT MIAMI’S NEW WORLD DANCE THEATER.
 
MIAMI- Eleven new works choreographed and danced by college students of the New World School of the Arts Dance Division, picture of actors leaning from a movement on stage in casual clothes will be presented to the public, Friday and Saturday, December 14 and 15, at 7:30 P.M. in a unique Student Choreography Concert held at the New World Dance Theater, 25 N.E. 2nd Avenue, downtown Miami, it was announced by Daniel Lewis, Dean of Dance.

“Seeing the new choreographic voices uncovers the imagination. With a mixture of movement, ideas, humor and drama, the audience will travel through a journey of pure satisfaction and beautiful dancing, undoubtedly feeling the energy of these eleven young dancers” stated Dale Andree, NWSA dance faculty and director of the choreographic works. Andree concluded, “What the audience can expect in this surprisingly exuberant program is a spectrum of styles from flying bodies of space to static dancing duos”

Among the works to be performed by the company of more than 50 students are “Mind, Body…Soul,”
(Choreographer: Julie Williams, Music: Lamb, Brandy) a composition that mixes modern dance and hip hop in a surprisingly seamless transition of elegant movement; and “Mad Love” (Choreographer: Erin Fletcher, Music: Nestor Prieto, NWSA music student) featuring a choreography of lights and projections to create a human canvass gracefully and dynamically moving across the dance floor.
