WELCOME HOLIDAY SEASON WITH NEW WORLD SCHOOL OF THE ARTS HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR, UNDER THE DIRECTION OF DR. ALBERT CLARK.
 
ANNUAL HOLIDAY CONCERT TO BE PERFORMED THURSDAY, DECEMBER 6, AT 7:30 PM AT MIAMI’S TRINITY CATHEDRAL
 
MIAMI---The spirit of the holidays will fill the air as New World School of the Arts’ High School Choir performs its enchanting Lead lady vocalist singing from the high school theme Peace on Earth Holiday Concert. Audiences of all ages will once again be captivated by popular Christmas selections which this year highlight the theme Peace on Earth.  Scheduled for Thursday, December 6 - 7:30 P.M. at Trinity Cathedral, 464 NE 16 Street, downtown Miami, this presentation will mark the fifth time the concert is recorded by WLRN for broadcast on PBS stations.
 
The one-hour concert musical, under the direction of Albert Clark, Director of Vocal Music for New World School of the Arts, highlights Leonard Bernstein’s “Chichester Psalms”, scored for organ, harp and percussion and seasonal favorites such as “Winter Wonderland”, “Silver Bells”, and “Ding Dong! Merrily on High”.
 
Dr. Clark is a native of Scranton, Pennsylvania. He received the Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Concordia College, Moorhead, Minnesota, where he studied conducting with Paul Christiansen. Following graduation, he continued his conducting studies with Morris Beachy at the University of Texas at Austin, receiving the degrees of Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts. In the fall of 1996, Dr. Clark assumed the position of Director of Vocal Music of the high school vocal program at New World School of the Arts. Since that time the Concert Choir has been a steady recipient of superior ratings at district and state festivals. In 2002, the choir made its Carnegie Hall debut in a performance of the Mozart Requiem under the baton of the eminent British composer and conductor, John Rutter.
 
 The South Miami Middle School Choir, directed by Alan Denning, will also perform in the concert.
