College Spring Dances presents powerful choreography

New World School of the Arts Spring dance 2018.Miami--- The anticipated College Spring Dances concert presented by New World School of the Arts promises an exciting and varied program of works by respected choreographers.

April 26, 27, 28 at 7:30 PM and May 29 at 2:00 PM. New World Dance Theater, 25 NE 2nd Street, 8th floor, downtown, Miami. General admission is $15. Students and seniors $5. Tickets available at Information about the concert is available at 305-237-3341.

This year's Spring Dances program includes a wide range of dance styles and audiences of all ages will thrill to these dances, performed by the talented young dancers of the New World Dance Ensemble, including Ohad Naharin's powerful Echad Mi Yodea, a work the world-renowned Israeli choreographer for a cast of twenty dancers. Robert Battle's lyrical work set to Bach, Overture will bring eight dancers in blue to the stage while Mark Morris's impish work Canonic ¾ Studies is by contrast light, witty and musical. Works by Miami-based professional choreographers and NWSA dance faculty members Gerard Ebitz, Peter London, and Jeffrey Lloyd Smith rounds off the concert.

At New World School of the Arts dance students receive instruction from accomplished dancers and choreographers and grow through disciplined guidance and training as they develop their personal style and repertoire. Through its educational partnerships, NWSA’s audition-based programs, accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance, Music, Theater and Art and Design, offer the high school diploma as well as the BFA and BM college degrees. Areas of concentration in dance include Ballet, Choreography, Modern Dance and World Dance.
New World School of the Arts was created by the Florida Legislature as a center of excellence in the performing and visual arts. It is an educational partnership of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Miami Dade College and the University of Florida.
