New World School of the Arts is Florida's premier center of excellence in the visual and performing arts. As a conservatory, NWSA develops talented students in the areas of dance, music, theatre and visual arts from the ninth grade in high school through a Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Music college degrees. NWSA offers a solid artistic program headed by some of the finest award-winning faculty members recognized worldwide. Our programs are cutting-edge, stimulating and rich with the ethnic and cultural diversity that represents artistic trends globally. Students at NWSA benefit from numerous and unique opportunities including world renowned faculty and guest artists, internships, foreign exchange visits and artistic and cultural events unique to South Florida.

Comprised of four arts divisions including Dance, Music, Theater, and Visual Arts, New World School of the Arts is a Florida center of excellence in the performing and visual arts that operates through an educational partnership of Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Miami Dade College and the University of Florida. This partnership makes it possible for students to earn a high school diploma, an Associate of Arts degree and a Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Music degree in programs accredited by the National Association of Schools of Dance, Music, Theatre and Art & Design.

Mission

New World School of the Arts (NWSA) is a Florida Center of Excellence in the Visual and Performing Arts. NWSA provides a comprehensive program of artistic, creative, and academic development through a curriculum that reflects the rich, multicultural State of Florida. The school empowers students to become state, national, and international leaders in the arts by challenging them with innovative ideas as they prepare for professional careers in a global community. These principles guide intensive and rigorous education for talented high school and college arts students

In the Heart of Downtown Miami

NWSA is surrounded by major cultural venues and thriving entertainment facilities in the downtown area of Miami, a cosmopolitan city with international flavor and a dynamic arts environment accessible by public transportation where students are exposed to the arts both as participants and audience members. Located on the Wolfson Campus of Miami Dade College, students benefit from an array of college services, in addition to attractions such as South Beach art deco District, Coconut Grove and Wynwood Arts District - home to over 70 art galleries, retail stores, shops, and one of the largest open-air street-art installations in the world. Within a short distance from the campus is the state-of-the-art Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts, the historic Olympia Theater, American Airlines Arena, Bayside Marketplace, Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), Patricia and Phillip Frost Museum of Science, PortMiami, the De la Cruz Collection, the Rubell Family Collection, Historical Museum of South Florida, Wolfsonian-FIU, Bass Museum of Art and Fredric Snitzer Gallery, among others.
