Admission to New World School of the Arts is determined by a performance audition or a portfolio review. For detailed information, see the audition requirements for each division. Students may audition for more than one division, though the course of study is limited to one.

In their arts classes, New World sophomores, juniors, and seniors earn dual-enrollment college credits awarded by authhority of Miami Dade College. The school day consists of five hours of academic classes and three hours of arts instruction. New World offers Advanced Placement courses in all subject areas. New World is accredited for academic and arts curriculum by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools for grades 9-12.
