Major Group Exhibit Showcasing Visual Arts Achievement of 15 New World School of the Arts College-bound Seniors May 17 – June 28 at New World Gallery
MIAMI --- With a dynamic exhibition showcasing more than 30 extraordinary works, some of them as tall as eight feet, 15 visual arts graduating students will conclude their tenure at New World School of the Arts as High School students. The exhibition will be presented to the public on Thursday, May 17 with an opening reception at the New World Gallery, from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM hosted by the PTSA. Running through Thursday, June 28 the showcase is open for viewing Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Admission is Free. New World Gallery is located at 25 NE 2nd Street, downtown Miami.
Curated by NWSA Visual Arts Dean Maggy Cuesta, the exhibition will showcase works representative of the student’s works over the year. Disciplines showcased include various mediums such as drawing, painting, printmaking and sculpture.
Cuesta has confirmed that all graduating students have been accepted to renowned universities across the nation to continue their field of study. Among some, are the respected Art Center in Pasadena, California; Kansas City Art Institute; MICA in Maryland and the College Program at New World School of the Arts.
New World School of the Arts (NWSA) was created by the Florida Legislature as a center of excellence in the performing and visual arts, is an educational partnership of Miami Dade County Public Schools, Miami Dade College and the University of Florida.
