Frederic E. Conde, Ed.D., A 17-Year Veteran Of The Miami-Dade School District Is Appointed Principal Of New World School Of The Arts’ High School Program
MIAMI --- Frederic E. Conde, Ed.D. a veteran administrator for the Miami-Dade County Public School System has been selected as new Principal of New World School of the Arts, opening the new school year at the famed institution on August 20, 2007. As Principal of the NWSA High School Program, Dr. Conde will be responsible for planning, organizing, administering and directing academic and operational activities at the high school level which are essential to the operation of NWSA.
A 17 year veteran of the Miami-Dade School District, Dr. Conde received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Spanish Education at Heidelberg College, a liberal arts college in Ohio, and his Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Doctorate of Education Degree from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Conde’s work history within the District includes Executive Director, School Operations; Executive Director, Office of Professional Standards; Systems Analyst, Office of Information Technology, Principal, Assistant Principal and teacher. Dr. Conde is also an adjunct professor and a member of the Latin American Institute for Educational Leadership at Nova Southeastern University working with Departments of Education in Latin America and the Caribbean to improve the quality of education on an international level.
“As our school opens its doors to begin a new school year, I reflect on the previous year and believe the greatest challenge facing us is to make the pursuit of continued excellence more attractive and more rewarding to both our community and our students. To this end, New World School of the Arts will continue its commitment towards improving student achievement through the inclusion of real-world connections achieved via independent projects, experiments, open-ended questioning and participation in real-world problem solving; improving Home-School Connections via intensive Parent-Teacher-Student Association (PTSA) collaborations; and increasing student academic and artistic success via participation in mentoring opportunities, internships and involvement in real-life activities” stated Conde as NWSA gears up for the start of the 2007-2008 year. He concludes with a positive message and outlook for NWSA’s future “As we enter into a period of transition, I look to the future with a renewed sense of vigor and confidence that New World will continue its strong tradition of academic and artistic excellence.”
New World School of the Arts was created by the Florida Legislature as a center of excellence in the performing and visual arts, is an educational partnership of Miami Dade County Public Schools, Miami Dade College and the University of Florida.
