NWSA College Theater BFAs travel to New York City to present remarkable showcase

Miami, FLORIDA---Full of energy and much anticipation, a group of ten Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) graduates from Miami, South Florida’s premier arts conservatory, New World School of the Arts’ (NWSA) College Theater Division head to New York City in search of their big Broadway opportunity. During their week-stay the students will showcase their talent to a group of more than thirty talent agents and scouts, many of who are already familiar with the level of artistic excellence demonstrated by NWSA’s students and alums.

Two 45-minute showcases will be held at Snapple Theater (1627 Broadway, New York, NY 10019), at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, May 7th and on Wednesday, May 8th at 6:00 PM. For the past six years New World School of the Arts College Theater has been expanding its to include this life-changing experience for the graduating BFA class. “The goal in the theater division is to prepare our students for professional careers in theater, the showcase offers the first step for students to meet, interact and network with agents and casting directors in New York.  It also is an opportunity for students to experience, for the first time, professional auditions when casting agents send them to callbacks for Broadway and Off-Broadway castings. Many of our alums are working in theater and film today due to the NYC showcase helping to launch their careers,” said Patrice Bailey, dean of theater at NWSA.

ABOUT NEW WORLD SCHOOL OF THE ARTS THEATER PROGRAM:
The New World School of the Arts theater program is dedicated to training exceptionally talented and committed students interested in pursuing performing careers in the theater. The program concentrates on the actors training, delving into fundaments ofphysical and emotional preparation, and the achievement of truthfulness andexpressive person on the stage. The music theater program, in addition, emphasizes Music Theater, singing, dance and choreography.
