Eugenia Salvo attended the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia and earned a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature with a concentration in Journalism. After working as a journalist and living abroad for three years, she discovered her passion for education. She began working with Miami-Dade County Public Schools in 2009 as a high school English Language Arts teacher. Eventually, Ms. Salvo decided to continue her formal education and pursue a new degree. In 2016, she earned her Master’s in Educational Leadership from Florida International University. Her passion for literacy and growing leadership skills led her to becoming a reading coach, where she found new and innovative ways to encourage a love of reading, build strong foundational skills, and help schools make significant gains. This also led to important work through the Florida Department of Education as a member of the High Impact Teacher Corps and opportunities to sit on testing review boards that make an impact throughout the state of Florida. For over a decade Ms. Salvo has helped schools to make gains in reading and overall school grades, she has taken on a variety of leadership roles and experiences, and she is always ready to use her skills and resources to grow as an effective leader. She proudly joined New World School of the Arts as High School Assistant Principal in 2022.
