Antonio A. Fernandez received the BA in Liberal Arts from the University of Florida, where he began Photography studies with Jerry N. Uelsmann. Subsequently, he studied with Aaron Siskind, Arthur Siegel, and Wynn Bullock at the Institute of Design in Chicago, Illinois (MFA, Photography and Cinematography). Additional studies in Education included the M.A.T. from Oakland University (Rochester, Michigan), and the Ph.D. from Michigan State University. His career as an educator spans four decades, having taught at the elementary, secondary, and college levels. His photographs are in the George Eastman House, The Center for Creative Photography, and The Cleveland Museum of Art. He founded the photography program at the New World School of the Arts in 1987, where he is an adjunct instructor in Photography and Cinematography.
