Clarinet

  • Chromatic Scale: 3 octaves from E
  • Two octave scales in the range of the instrument
  • Two contrasting repertoire pieces that demonstrate lyrical playing and technical proficiency

Oboe

  1. Scales and Arpeggios:  All 12 major scales and major arpeggios- 2 octaves where possible (at least up to the F above the staff) & Chromatic Scale: 2 octaves, starting from D
  2. Etudes:  Both the lyrical and technical Florida All State Etudes for that year, at the tempos indicated
  3. Solo piece:  Of applicant’s choice should be at least a Grade 4 or higher

  • Telemann Concerto in F minor - just 1st movement
  • Handel Sonata in C minor or G minor - just first movement
  • Handel Concerto in G minor - just first movement, second movement optional

  • Nielsen Romance and Humoresque - pick one movement
  • Marcello Concerto in D minor (can also be C minor) - just first movement
  • Schumann Romances - First or Third romance

Bassoon

Alto Saxophone

  • Chromatic scale: 2 octaves from C
