NWSA scholarship is awarded annually and is based on merit. Award may be applied to MDC or UF tuition and fees.

American Dream Scholarship

Miami Dade College’s Future Ready Miami-Dade Scholarship ensures all Miami-Dade County residents can complete an associate degree at Miami Dade College tuition-free. This scholarship covers costs not covered through other grants, financial aid, and scholarships.

Who is Eligible?

High school graduates who have earned a standard high school diploma, GED, or home school diploma in Miami Dade County during the May-July 2024 period (without a previous degree). Students must submit an application and have a cumulative GPA of at least a 2.0.

What is Covered?

The scholarship funds will be applied at the in-state tuition rate after all other resources available to cover tuition and fees have been applied. This includes Shark Pack digital materials.

Duration

The scholarship covers up to 60 credits toward the completion of an associate degree. Students have the opportunity to earn badges and career certificates as they progress toward the associate degree.

MDC Presidential Scholars

The Presidential Scholars Program offers competitive scholarships to high school students based on academic achievement. The awards cover tuition and fees, plus a stipend for living expenses. In addition, scholars will be invited to participate in unique co-curricular opportunities of career preparation, leadership development, academic research, civic engagement trips, social events and more.

Who is Eligible?

High school graduates who have earned a standard high school diploma, GED, or home school diploma in Miami Dade County during the May-July 2024 period (without a previous degree). Students must have a cumulative high school weighted GPA of 3.50 or above.

What is Covered?

The scholarship covers tuition and fees for all semesters at the in-state tuition rate. Recipients will also receive a $500.00 stipend during the fall and spring terms and $250.00 during the summer term.

Duration

The scholarship covers up to 60 credits toward the completion of an A.A. or A.S. degree, or whichever comes first.

Rising Scholars

The Rising Scholars Program provides free tuition for up to two years, plus academic and co-curricular experiences to equip students with the knowledge, resources, and skills for success.

Who is Eligible?

High school graduates who have earned a standard high school diploma, GED, or home school diploma in Miami Dade County during the May-July 2024 period (without a previous degree).

What is Covered?

The Rising Scholars funds will be applied at the in-state tuition rate after all other resources available to cover tuition and fees have been applied.

Duration

The scholarship covers all credits during the initial summer term and up to 60 credits toward completion of an A.A. or A.S. degree, whichever comes first.
